Design: Iacoski's Datsun Fairlady Z Concept
A couple months ago, Benjamin Nawka was asked by Nissan to bring the Datsun name back to life through a design study named "X Link". Even though we have no idea what Nissan plans regarding Datsun might be, it seems to have motivated other designers including Iacoski. Here's his vision for a future Datsun Fairlady Z.

Moving away from the design of the recent Z (350), this concept is inspired by the legendary 240/280Z and the Nissan GT-R. Pretty amazing result isn't it?

Why did he call it Datsun fairlady Z. The fairlady Z was a nissan, only out side of Japan was it a datsun, and there it was a 240Z not a fairlady Z.

Relax dude, we know what he means. Back to the subject, there's not much originality in this concept. All I see is a GTR front end with a longer hood and a 240Z rear end. Reminds me of an old school porche with different headlights.

I would differently own this car and this is coming from a old skool 18 year old who LOVES cars from the 80's and 70's and 60's when people actually had style and could build a car that could last for years years year and years

whats the normal life span of a newer car? (2005 +) 4 years? many less? (not the exact point but you get the picture)

I would love this but only if it came with either a L38DE or TB48DE ( 4.8 liter inline engine omg... awesome...)

And is that a Intercooler I spot with my eye?

I LIKE IT. I own a 1986 300 ZX turbo and I would drive this one in a heartbeat.

Of course I think the RX8 is pretty nice too. I owned a 1980 model RX7.

This is only a dream, but if it was a real actual production and it's here for America I will be the first in line for this baby!!! The 09 edition is sleak but minus the Side markers and reverse light which is lame! But still I hope Nissan reconsider in producing the 09 model into what the artist envision!
I do still wish Nissan produce the 240 Z in the late 90's and early millenium! It was the biggest mistake Nissan made!
