The Daihatsu Coo adopts the "Unique Emotional Wagon" concept, aimes at a young target audience, both single or married.
The Coo has a generous 3.3m3 interior and a rather a-typical dashboard with yound and dynamic shapes. The rev counter, speedometer and other dials and information sources are grouped in the middle of the dashboard, as it's more and more common nowadays. Just like on the BB, this Coo has plenty of little blue lights to create a "disco fever" in the CX and CX-Limited version.
When it comes to the technical side of the car, we get 2 engines: the K3-VE adopts a 1297cc and 92bhp engine that drives 2 or 4 wheels, and the 3SZ-Ve gets a 1495cc and 109bhp that drives 2 wheels. The power is transmitted through a 4-speed automatic gearbox, and the turning circle is 4.9m. Just like all other good Japanese cars, it respects the very severe environmental regulations (it's 75% below the 2005 Japanese regulations).
When it comes to comfort and security, this Coo has, just like the majority of the vehicles, a whole suite of airbags. This is thanks to Daihatsu's SOFI, or Safety-Oriented Friendly Interior, which is an advanced vehicle interior concept aimed at protecting driver and passengers in the event of a collision. Designed to complement the TAF body, SOFI is a comprehensive safety design comprising such features as dual SRS airbags, SRS side airbags, and dynamic support headrests.
Daihatsu has also developed a collision-safe bodyshell technology called TAF, for Total Advanced Function. Our TAF bodies not only surpass collision safety standards in Japan and Europe, they meet the world's highest standards for 55-km/h full-wrap frontal/side collisions and 64 km/h 40%-wrap offset frontal collisions.
The Coo will ba available for a price between 9600 and 13200 EUR in Japan.
