Mazda is going to release a NR-A version of their little roadster. It's designed with the specifications of the NR-A championship in mind, and it's based on the model with a 2.0l DOHC engine coupled to a 5-speed manual, and here's the list of the changes that have been done:
Additional/changed features different from the base model
- Height-adjustable Bilstein dampers
- Torque-sensing 'Super LSD' (limited-slip differential)
- Leather-wrapped steering wheel
- Aluminum gas/brake/clutch pedals
- Front suspension tower bars (braced to the cowl structure)
- 16-inch steel wheels (16-inch aluminum wheels are standard equipment on the base model)
Mazda has been selling NR-A models of their Roadsters on the Japanese market since 2001, and it's thanks to the devotion of young Japanese pilots that this trend continues. This NR-A version is specially designed to enter the "Roadster Party", a race that will be held in Japan at the beginning of September 2006.
Getting a model like this in Japan will cost close to 16000 EUR.
