Mitsubishi Galant - Fortis - Lancer: Test Drive
History
Called Galant Fortis in Japan, Lancer Fortis in Taiwan and Lancer in the rest of the world, what we have here is the 10th generation of one of the most famous cars in Mitsubishi's lineup, mostly thanks to the amazing EVOLUTION version that tops the range.

Specifications
- 4 doors sedan
- Front engined front wheel drive
- 2l MIVEC DOHC engine, 4 cylinders, 154PS and a torque of 198Nm

Design
Based on the Concept-X unveiled in 2005 at the Tokyo Motor Show by Mitsubishi, the new Lancer (Galant - Fortis) offres a very agressive and dynamic look through an impressive front grille and headlights. Thanks to this, even this "non-evo" version looks mean and ready to give a lot of fun to any potential driver.

Inside
The impressive exterior isn't matched inside with a rather bland and disappointing interior. The overall quality feel could have been better and uses elements from the whole Mitsubishi line-up, so if you have ever been in a Pajero or Outlander recently, you may notice similarities that do not help the Lancer to come up with a personality of its own.

On the road
Equipped with a Dual Clutch CVT gearbox and perfectly tuned suspensions, the Galant is very pleasant to drive and it is obvious that Mitsubishi has been working hard and successfully to reach such a level. Producing 154PS from the DOHC MIVEC technology motor and a good torque, the new Mitsubishi feels at ease in the city or on the highway, of course, anybody looking for more sensations should be heading to the "big brother" Lancer Evolution. All in all, an excellent family car.

Plus:
Look
CVT gearbox
Price - quality ratio in Japan

Minus:
Interior
Only one engine proposed (in Japan)

Conclusion:
With this new generation of Lancer, Mitsubishi proposes an excellent vehicle offering great style and plenty of enjoyment behind the wheel for a car of this category. It is sad to see that so little attention has been brought to the interior because the rest is definitely worth the money.

At first I didn't like the new body style, but now it is growing on me.

Gag please make the reviews the same like before where you drive the cars and talk. This new way is not fun or cool like it was before. (Please)
You made way better with not even 10% of the Top Gear budget. Bring it back!

P.S.I am a fan for almost 2 years and this had to be said.
Hope you listen to a true fan.

Zelda is right. We're telling you as long time fans that these new videos are not good. We miss your commentary and the funny wit you had in your old videos. These new videos look good but they serve no real purpose - they're just a bunch of photos with music in the background.

Please go back to the old style!

Hi

We will do this again, but please understand that this takes a LOT of time and preparation. Also we had in the past SO MUCH complain that my "Accent" was too much French for some readers....

I agree, it is better with talking. But you can find someone else to talk? Like someone with a professional voice, be it man or woman. That way we get the talking, and people won't get annoyed by your "accent".

Everybody's happy.

The Galant Fortis looks great, I like the more agressive look. But i'm still waiting for a true new Galant (like VR-4 or VR-G)
