Is Datsun Coming Back?
Datsun was once famous for its sports cars, like the infamous 240Z. Now it's long gone as the company was shut down in 1986, but a part of its legacy lives on with Nissan.

Oddly enough, this is the Datsun Xlink, a design study made by Benjamin Nawka working at the Nissan Yulon Design Center. This Sports Utility Coupe, as a concept, features a diesel hybrid engine and a unique XLINK Experience communication system.

The real question is... Is Nissan considering bringing Datsun back?

For history's sake they should'nt revive the name Datsun any longer as the founder { J. Seizo } of the original company seized back full rights over the partners - K.(D)en, R.(A)oyama and M.(T)akeuchi and add SON = Datson.
Plus Nissan just sounds better than Datsun ( which brings memories of the 70's and staying in that era ).

It might be actually possible for Nissan to bring Datsun back for today. With these modern technology, all innovations is possible. I'm just looking forward for some modifications and improvement as well. Reminds me of autopartswarehouse blog.

I think that Nissan should bring the Datsun name back and use it as a youth brand like Toyota USA did with Scion.

I really loved the Datsun Z. But before Nissan stars another make, I believe it would be better to extend its own line up with a replacement for the 200SX, which this car would be great for.

Datsun should definetly come back but as a subsidiary of Nissan that will produce sport oriented vehicles for the younger generation of enthusiast! If Toyota has Scion why not Nissan and Datsun?
