Mitsubishi has announced the release of their new OutLander, a sporty 4x4 that is at ease in the city and on the countryside. This SUV (as it is called on the other side of the Atlantic) is inspired on the Lancer Evolution from a technological point of view when it comes to the bodywork in order to provide interesting performances on the road.
Power is delivered by a 2.4l 16-valve DOHC MIVEC engine, hooked up to a 6-speed INVECS-III Sport CVT automatic gearbox, and this is clearly a step in the sporty direction from Mitsubishi, while keeping the fuel consumption under control.
This "New Age" All Wheel Control (AWC) SUV (as the manufacturer likes to call it) has a ASC (Active Stablity Control) system that keeps the 4 powered wheels in line, both while braking and accelerating, and thanks to the low centre of gravity and highly rigid suspension, this 4x4 is a very stable car.
You can feast your ears in this Outlander on a "Premium" Rockford Fosgate audio system that delivers no less than 650W.
Obviously, Mitsubishi is aiming this latest 4x4 at a young and dynamic target audience, that has a tendency of choosing the Toyota Harrier (Lexus RX) in Japan.
