I'm sorry - I don't want a Protoge. And having driven both a WRX and a MS3, I'll take the 08 WRX on Subaru's name alone and for realizing how unfun a lot of HP is trying to be put down on the front wheels alone - and the sharp edged plastic of the MS3 - and the vague shifting. And the torquesteer. And I'm sorry - I've read about the MS3, have driven one twice. Still can't recognize them from Protoges or regular Mazda3s at all. Not sure why anybody would try to copy such an anonymous vehicle. This has a Subaru funkiness that the MS3 lacks. Still not sure how well it will sell...

The main reason Subaru had to come-out and change the Impreza series into a hatchback is because all WRC Rallye cars that do win races at the moment ( Citroen C4, Ford Focus ) are hatchbacks.
It might actually work for them, we don't know until we see one. But coming-out with this kind of look as their brand image is just not acceptable and totally unforgivable on Subaru. Yes the engine will definitely be a cracker and the upgraded suspension package a big improvement but this poorly designed hatch and sedan ( included ) are a waste of corporate money. Whoever penned the new look and passed it for production should be shot and put to rest.
Another thing this car reminds me of that famous ( banana { only the color } sti coupe ) of a few years ago

I have to admit when I first saw this very article I didn't like the the new WRX hatch body, but strangely enough I like it now a few months later. I would actually take this over the Evo X.
