You probably know the Lexus SC430, the Luxury Coupe of Toyota's prestigious branch. This car was mentioned several times on NihonCar and we tested it some months ago
right here.
The review left us with the image of a good but heavy car with performances below our expectations...now most of us don't see the SC430 as a pure sportscar but under the bonnet is a version of a motor that won the Super GT Championship in Japan last year (GT500) with the
OPEN INTERFACE TOM'S team: a 4.3 litre V8 !
TOM'S that's right ! So who else could possibly help anybody better when it comes to taking care of Lexus's latest coupe? I guess nobody, at this with this level of professionalism.
The way TOM'S provides parts and accessories is very straightforward, similar to the options of a manufacturer catalogue, therefore the list of possibilities is equivalent from one model to another, this is why many parts available for the S50 are also for the
LS460.
The advantage for the client lies in the clarity of the whole process, giving that extra inch of confidence that you can't find with every tuner.
Style
Well if you ask me the Lexus SC430 is a great looking car, pretty different from its predecessor rocking the Toyota badge. For the exterior TOM'S proposes a 6 pieces body kit (front/rear bumper, side skirts, rear spoiler and hood) along with 19 inches wheels to increase the sporty look of the coupe. Once inside it's all about subtle details, GT shifter, TV/SatNav screen and TOM'S logos because you're no longer driving a Lexus.
Chassis
Nowadays the "sportivity" is more and more about appearance and look than performance (unfortunately) but TOM'S has got what it takes to improve the excellent drivability of the SC430 making it more dynamic thanks to modified (here lowered) suspensions and new braking system.
Engine
The 4.3 litre V8 is capable of much more than what the stock car offers and it's a shame unless you love "cruising". For it TOM'S has got a couple parts to make it feel and sound better, hyper compressor kit, ECU modification, speed limiter cut, air filter or new exhaust system are part of the list. Enough to enjoy a real change behind the wheel and keep a high level of reliability.
By looking at the photos below you'll probably agree that TOM'S has done it again, proposing yet another high quality set of "tools" to enjoy the SC430 even more, actually it is now the TOM'S SC50 that you're looking at.
