Buying a Lexus can be considered a sign of good taste with a good financial situation but in Japan this is not the most original pick in a category dominated by the German manufacturers.
A large number of tuning companies provide all sorts of parts for every Japanese manufacturer for those who wish to stand out and give their car a personal touch. But when it comes to Lexus, customers are pushed towards a rather discrete and serious presentation unlike “M” for BMW, “AMG” for Mercedes or “S Line” for Audi…So if you are looking for this kind of look for your Lexus, you are looking for TOM’S.
We recently showed you
what they can do with a Lexus LS, today we will focus on another sedan that’s aimed at a younger and more dynamic crowd with the IS 350 (3.5 litre 6 Cyl. Engine, 0-60 in 6 seconds and a bit more than 300HP).
As a complete tuner, TOM’S has a wide range of parts for just about anything in a car. Engine wise you can’t expect huge modifications probably for safety and ecological concerns, but there’s still plenty to be offered: air cleaner, computer tuning, hyper compressor kit, and speed limiter cut if you really want to lose your license. To help the engine breath better, a set of unique exhausts are also available.
For the chassis, the brakes (brake pads, brake line) and suspensions (front and rear brace) can be modified, plus other parts including an LSD and Lower Body Reinforcement Brace among other things.
Last but not least the most visible part of TOM’S work on this IS 350 is obviously the body kit. Nothing new under the sun when it comes to the usual front/rear bumpers and side skirts, but the car can be equipped with a small trunk spoiler. The rims are 19 inches and come in 3 different models. The TOM’S touch can be seen in the interior too through floor mats, the clutch shifter, and the audio and satellite navigation systems.
Text aside, a quick look at the pictures should help you make your mind, this is once again a great work as what we can expect from such a company and as we often say on NihonCar, exclusivity is priceless.
