The main subject will be WRC and...the Suzuki SX4 ! Not the Swift this time around ! The following news come from an official announcement made at the Geneva Auto Show on march 6.
Before going into the details let us inform you that the Suzuki SX4 sedan will receive a diesel engine of 1.6 litre, a must have in Europe. Suzuki plans on selling 340.000 SX4 in the year 2007.
Back to the main topic of the day and the arrival of the Suzuki SX4 in the World Rally Championship, a very good news after the last couple years which saw many doubts rising around the future of the WRC, the development is a work in progress and tests in Japan are now over, the team will now head to Europe to continue its training in April. The aim is to participate to the 2008 season.
The Suzuki Swift is still alive though and will make its appearance in the Group N races (close to stock version cars with restricted upgrades and modifications), the success of the car should be there regarding the great results it has been obtaining in Junior WRC.
With the legendary Pikes Peak hillclimb, Moto GP and WRC series, Suzuki will again be fighting on various levels and motorsport series, hopefully for the good of the image of their brand, best of luck to them !
