The second big surprise at the Mugen booth at the Tokyo Auto Salon was this Fit Spec-D aka Fit Dynamite... or how Mugen has managed to fit a supercharger to an engine and produce 145bhp on a small city car.
.
In a form factoe of only 3.8m long and 1.7m wide (and still fitting in a 5-door car) there is not a lot of space to play around with, but the Mugen engineers and designers have managed to fit the L15A (SOHC of 1496 cm3) engine under the bonnet covered with a nice Supercharger sauce, and the trained eye will notice that it was necessary to redesign the bonnet of the car for this purpose.
And of course, when you say tuning, you say more horses, but you also say carbon fibre. And this Fit aka Jazz, has been fir with quite a lot of that material, like the 2 air intakes at the front for example.
This Fit has received new shoes too... 205/40R17 tires onto 17" GT rims to be more precise.
Despite the fact that it looks very sporty, this Fit has kept the elegance of the original car, and it can surely rival with the German rockets out there.
